Wandering around the museum on a writing workshop. I can’t say I am a fan of them, but what they do is make you write and give you another perspective to write from. As a writer you can get caught in your bubble and it’s good to touch base with other similar people locally. I work with visual imagery and a Museum has plenty , no one will mind if you sit, look and write. Art spaces are even better as the images can be quite surreal. The colours and shapes demand your attention like a petulant child .Last week at the TATE modern I was struck by the ravens as I entered the poetry and dreams exhibition which looked at what inspired the artists. However the lack of any real poetry on display was a disappointment. I feel poetry and art are connected and need to be in tandem more not separated as is so often the case.
